Musings: Five Weeks with My New Family..

December 2, 2017

Hi! Shelby here! I’m so excited because today marks five weeks in my new forever home with my new forever family. I’ve been a good girl this week and have stayed close to home, even when Dad let’s us out to greet Mom coming home from work. We hear Dad call “Mom’s Home” and there is a mad dash to see who can get to the door first! Even our cat, Miss Bentley goes to the door! But silly Dad, he doesn’t realize we recognize her car coming down the street, the smell of Mom’s scent growing closer, and we are already anticipating her arrival long before she steps out of her car. Pups are like that with an acute sense of smell and hearing. I sure love when my Mom comes home, even though I’ve had a great day with my Dad.

It was a fun week with my first road trip and sleep over. Mom found a great place right on the ocean where we could watch the seagulls from the window. But it was more fun when I could chase them on the beach. The older pups stay right with our parents, so they could be off their leads. Someday as I get a little older and learn to stay close, I hope they will let me do the same. One of the days we had a lot of rain and strong gusts of wind. Lincoln was scared of the noise, but I thought it was pretty cool. Besides Mom wasn’t afraid, so I knew it was okay for me too! I also got Porsche and Lincoln to play with me, and while Tesla didn’t want to play, he spent lots of time staying close. I can barely wait until New Year’s weekend when we will be going back, and this time no Memorial which made Mom sad. I could tell she was sad by the taste of salt on her cheeks. I tried my best to make sure Mom knew she was loved and to cheer her up! How could she not smile with such a silly pup playing in her lap and giving her kisses!

Time for me to do the thing I love most, next to eating, playing, and loving my Mom and Dad, and of course all my siblings, even the cat Miss Bentley – and that is – sleep!! My how I love to sleep, almost as much as I love waking up in the morning to my Mom snuggled next to me.

Blessings to All for another wonderful and amazing week.
Love to each of you.
From your Miss Shelby

One Last Stop – A Final Resting Place..

November 27, 2017

We had one final stop before heading back to the City. Mom wanted to show Dad where the Memorial was for her oldest nephew Steven. Dad wasn’t feeling well on Saturday, so wasn’t able to go. Mom said that the beauty we witnessed today after the rain of Saturday helped assure her that Steve was at peace in majestic beauty.

Dad walked us down the dock and I wasn’t the least bit scared to be this close to the water. It really was breathtaking.

Musings: Love Time Spent with My Siblings!

November 26, 2017

Mom! It is so cool that I am spending time with my siblings and they seem to really like me! I never knew I would have a family like this to love me so much!

Look at us Mom! We are playing!! So much fun! Wow!! I’m so excited! Porsche and Lincoln both wanted to play with me! Tesla didn’t like the barking, but I understand this comes from when he was in a cage for so long and he rarely engages in play. But that’s okay, we understand. Our miracle girl Porsche is sure full of spunk! Dad was so funny with his comment!! Now time for Dad to take us out!!

What a great day! My first trip to the beach and seeing seagulls for the first time. But finally playing and hanging out with my siblings is the best part of the whole trip!!

The Beach! I love the Beach!

November 26, 2017

We made it to the beach between rain bursts! I had so much fun even though I needed to stay on my lead. The other puppies understand staying close, so they all were off their leash. But I had fun anyway and Dad used the longer retractable to give me more tether.

It was so much fun being able to run in the sand and feel the wind blow in my hair! It was also so much fun watching Porsche, Tesla and Lincoln. They all run on the beach just like they were young puppies like me!
