The morning is just starting in our house. Well Mom, Miss Bentley and I are awake, while the boys, Dad and Miss Porsche are still sleeping. We are enjoying the quiet and are thankful for these moments together. Mom told me today was the day for thankfulness and she told me how thankful they are that I am now one of the “Klein Kids”!
As a rescued puppy, I am thankful every day. But according to Mom I can be extra thankful today! Mom asked me to share all the reasons I have to be thankful. So let me tell you all the things I am thankful for, well most all, because this thing called the Internet couldn’t hold them all!
Tomorrow marks my fourth week in my new home. Can you imagine! Already four weeks in my new forever home and so much has happened! I’ve learned my new name and usually come when I’m called, but especially when Dad shakes the special treat can! I’ve gone to the Puppy Spa for a new hair cut and met my wonderful new vet! I’ve been on a road trip to Sisters and have found I love riding in the car! I’ve chased Ducks and Geese and Crows and Squirrels (and I’ve even caught one of those!) I’ve learned about sharing with my siblings and most of all I’ve learned about being loved.
As a rescue puppy I have much to be thankful for, especially this year, but I think, always:
– the wonderful people at Journey Home Rescue who saved my life
– my foster Mom who took such good care of me til I was adopted
– my new forever home where I am safe and loved
– my new parents who love me unconditionally, even when I am testing the boundaries
– my four new siblings, even one who is a cat!
– and, my many new friends who enjoy hearing about my new life.
As I reflect on all there is to be thankful for, I find myself thinking about all of the other sweet rescues who need forever homes. Nearly every day Mom learns about a new ShihTzu in need of rescue and if there was more room in our bed, Mom would likely convince Dad to add to our pack! Is there such a thing as a “double king size bed”?
Mom checked and this morning there were 152 ShihTzu rescues needing forever homes. As you count your own blessings today, consider what a blessing you could be for a sweet pup, who is lost and afraid, and waiting to be loved. I know being adopted for me is what I am most thankful for. shihtzu.rescueme.org
Time to give Dad kisses so he will wake up and take us for a walk. There is much to do today with not only Thanksgiving, but in preparing for our trip to the Beach! Mom said I will love the Beach – it is Porsche’s favorite place.
Many blessings to all. Thank you each for being a part of my, and our lives.
Happy Thanksgiving.
